About Mountain Garden Blend

Our Mountain Garden Blend combines oolong and Darjeeling in a fusion of teas from different mountainous regions, one from China or Taiwan (for oolong) and another from the Darjeeling region in India.

Oolong tea is traditionally produced in regions like China (e.g., Fujian and Guangdong provinces) and Taiwan. Oolong undergoes partial oxidation, resulting in a diverse range of flavors from light and floral to dark and roasted. The oolong component could add complexity, floral notes, and a nuanced flavor profile to the blend.

Darjeeling, often referred to as the "Champagne of Teas," is grown in the Himalayan region of India. Darjeeling teas are known for their muscatel flavour, floral aroma, and bright, lively character. The Darjeeling component contributes a brisk and fruity element to the blend.

The combination of oolong and Darjeeling in our Mountain Garden Blend results in a tea with a harmonious balance between the floral and nuanced qualities of oolong and the brisk and fruity characteristics of Darjeeling. The name incorporates a connection to high-altitude gardens, emphasizing the elevated regions where both types of tea are often cultivated.

Given the diverse nature of oolong and Darjeeling teas, it's essential to follow the recommended brewing parameters to bring out the best in each component. Oolong teas often benefit from multiple infusions, while Darjeeling teas should be steeped at slightly lower temperatures to preserve their delicate flavours.
