Da Hong Pao (or Big Red Robe) Oolong is one of the oldest and most famous Oolongs produced in China.
Hailing from the Wuyi Mountains, this tea is said to have received its name when a Ming Dynasty Emperor used expensive red cloth to wrap four tea bushes in honour after their leaves were used to cure his unwell mother from a long illness. Indeed; four ancient bushes can still be found on a cliff in the Wuyi Mountains today and Da Hong Pao leaves are said to originate from these four plants. Today, Da Hong Pao Oolong is still limited in supply, earning it the distinction of being one of the most expensive teas in the world.
Organic Rose Oolong combines the aromatic, nutty and slightly sweet characteristics of roasted oolong leaves with the delicate, floral tones of rosebuds. The result is a delightful blend where rose naturally accentuates the sweetness of the complex oolong flavours whilst producing subtle and yet distinct perfume notes. When steeped, a copper-brown liquor is produced with a sweet and floral aroma with a note of honey.
Add one dessertspoon per cup to a mug or teapot, add freshly boiled water and infuse for 3 minutes. Best enjoyed without milk or sweetener. Serve immediately or remove leaves to prevent spoiling.
