Our Imperial Ceylon is a most elegant, single estate High-Grade black tea from Sri Lanka, it has a delicious, almost fruity, aroma and a clean, smooth aromatic flavour with a hint of earthiness. Hand-picked on the Dickwella Estate in Matara, South Sri Lanka; this coastal tea is rolled into long, thin, slightly curled leaves with plenty of bud and tip for a mild, smooth character which is both aromatic and clean. Copper-brown in colour, it is wonderfully refined and elegant and works well when taken with milk.

About Imperial Ceylon

Imperial Ceylon is a high-quality black tea produced in the island nation of Sri Lanka, which was formerly known as Ceylon. Ceylon teas are renowned for their brightness, briskness, and a wide range of flavour profiles depending on the specific region and elevation where the tea is grown.

Ceylon, now known as Sri Lanka, is one of the world's major tea-producing regions. Teas labelled as "Ceylon" are exclusively from this island.

Imperial Ceylon Tea is a black tea, and Ceylon teas are known for their versatility and can be found in various grades, including whole leaf, broken leaf, and fannings. Tea palace Imperial Ceylon is the whole leaf grade.

The elevation at which Ceylon tea is grown can significantly influence its flavor. Teas grown at higher elevations tend to have a more nuanced and delicate character, while those grown at lower elevations may be bolder and more robust.

Our high-quality Ceylon tea is characterized by well-twisted, wiry leaves that unfurl during steeping. The dry leaves may have golden tips, which can indicate a premium quality tea.

The brewed liquor of Imperial Ceylon Tea is typically bright and may range from a golden amber to a deep copper colour, depending on the processing and oxidation levels.
